This quotation (paraphrased) is attributed to Henry Ford by Charles Binderup in Congressional Record — House 81:2528 (March 19, 1937). In my first attempt to locate the actual text online I discovered that the Federal Reserve of St. Louis has posted a copy of this publication: PROCEEDINGS and DEBATES of the FIRST SESSION OF THE SEVENTYFIFTH CONGRESS of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA — VOLUME 81-PART3 — MARCH 18, 1937, TO APRIL 15, 1937 (Pages 2377 to 3568). Although the first page of this document shows the dates above, the contents begin March 25th. Critique of the Federal Reserve was not presented, the arguments against gold, however, have been retained. |
